Itinerary
Step 1/5:

DEPARTURE: Penfoul beach parking lot on the D27.

Penfoul beach is a surfing and bodyboarding spot par excellence. Penfoul is a large sandy beach framed by large rocks that reinforce its wild dimension. Open to the sea breeze, it is also suitable for swimming and will delight lovers of waves and thrills.
Watch out for the rising tide!

Parking on Penfoul beach

Continue along the road to observe the Kerhouézel menhir, 400m away.

Located on an agricultural plot, the Kerhouézel menhir is 6.60 m high and 1.70 m wide.

Menhir de Kerhouzel

It is home to the Ifremer station, whose fishpond gave its name to the entire peninsula.
Beautiful properties occupy most of the peninsula.

This completely isolated point was used for military purposes to control north-west access to the port of Argenton. To the west, the port is naturally protected by the island of Yoc'h. Opposite, its south-western access was controlled by an identical installation on the Vivier peninsula.
