Did you know? Seaweed, made up of natural debris washed up on beaches (seaweed, sea grasses, small crustaceans, etc.), prevents coastal erosion. It encourages the development of dunes and vegetation by nourishing the soil in the same way as the dead leaves that litter forests in autumn. The Conservatoire du Littoral therefore recommends leaving this debris in place. Even if it means rethinking our idea of a beautiful beach... 🙃
