About us

The beach and village owe their name to an old mill on the beachfront. This tour will introduce you to Trez-Hir, the only listed seaside resort and one of the most popular tourist sites in the Pays d'Iroise.

With the circuits published by "Iroise Bretagne", choose quality hiking with official circuits marked and maintained by the Fédération Française de Randonnée du Finistère and Pays d'Iroise Communauté.

Along the way, you'll discover the FFI stele, the houses of Cosquer and Kerjérôme, and the seaside resort of Trez-Hir.

Itinerary
Step 1/5:

DEPARTURE: Parking de la plage de Porsmilin 29280 Locmaria-Plouzané.
The Locmaria-Plouzané coastline stretches over 6 kilometers from Porsmilin beach to the pointe du Grand Minou (just before the Petit Minou lighthouse).
The beach at Porsmilin is a south-facing cove where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the pea heaps and the Bertheaume fort, and appreciate its wild side and grassy backshore.
In summer, the beach is supervised from 1pm to 7pm.

A stele above the Cosquer beach, made of Aber Ildut granite, pays tribute to the soldiers from the Saint-Renan canton who were killed during the liberation battles in August and September 1944.

The Iroise Bretagne Tourist Office team is on hand all year round to advise and guide you, suggest walking tours and book tickets for the islands.... Don't hesitate to visit us, we'll be delighted to help you discover the Pays d'Iroise.

Plougonvelin Tourist Office

The former Toul-Logot coastal battery.
Toul Logot is a Breton expression that translates as "mouse hole" in French.
From here, you'll enjoy an exceptional view of the entrance to the Brest Narrows, and even of the heaps of peas (Crozon peninsula) and the Pointe du Raz on a clear day.
Admire the artillery terrace, the ruins of the powder magazine and the guardhouse. From here, a battery of cannons could fire on enemy ships.

The Trez-Hir beach is supervised from 12pm to 7pm in summer, making it an ideal family beach.
Enjoy the fine sand and calm waters.
Little bonus: merry-go-rounds and chichis stalls are on hand all summer long to delight your children!

Trez-Hir is also a beach accessible to people with reduced mobility. Access is on one level, thanks to hard flooring. 2 seahorses, 1 tiralo and adapted toilets are available.

And if you feel like renting some water sports equipment, it's the perfect opportunity to come back: all you have to do is visit the Centre Nautique de Plougonvelin, while keeping your feet in the sand!
