Balance of the world

Mélanie Elleouet runs this independent, general bookshop, which doubles as an art gallery and tea-coffee room, in the lower part of rue Saint-Yves in Saint-Renan. Here, she makes her teenage dream come true: to open a place where books and art can meet, but also a place where people can meet and exchange ideas and feel good.

Here, authors, artists, enthusiasts and the simply curious can meet up on the shelves of the bookshop, over a coffee or at book signings, meetings, vernissages and other workshops.

The bookshop offers a wide selection of French and foreign literature, a children's area with games and a dedicated section. There's also a wide selection of comics and manga, as well as thrillers, science fiction and practical works (gardening, DIY, etc.). The social sciences section is tinged with the subjects that drive us, such as feminism, ecology and other contemporary challenges.

The art gallery runs alongside a fine art department. We share a passion for shapes, colors and beautiful stories. Dutch artist Petra Lunenberg is the first to exhibit paintings inspired by women's fashion.

And for even more conviviality, there's a tea and coffee room.
